9 tips for drinking mangosteen juice

1. Get a full medical checkup before starting the juice.

Without a doubt, the first step that I would recommend to anyone who is about to buy mangosteen juice is to have a complete medical check-up before you start taking it. That way, you can monitor what changes, if any, occur in your body as you drink the juice, in effect creating your own clinical study.

2. Try to keep track of your progress.

Since healthy eating is promoted by medical science as a means of reducing many bodily illnesses (and consequently the need for medication), mangosteen juice should be considered a superfood, which can have surprising and sudden beneficial effects.

So, if you are taking any life-sustaining prescription drugs, for example, to:

  • heart disease
  • kidney disease
  • Diabetes
  • Depression
  • Bipolar disorder, etc.

Tell your doctor that you are taking mangosteen juice as a health supplement and that it may, unlikely as it may seem, affect your prescription drug needs. You should schedule regular check-ups, because if your medication needs to be changed or stopped, it is highly recommended that a doctor oversee the process.

In addition to medical changes, you can also observe if your behavior changes, for example, if you are having:

  • different sleep patterns
  • increased joint flexibility
  • increased libido
  • reduction in cravings for stimulating foods, such as tea, coffee, soda, junk food, etc. [Incidentally, if that occurs, you may find the juice pays for itself in savings!] etc.

as sometimes such changes can creep up on you and may go unnoticed if not noted. Mind you, if that happens and you stop the juice or run out, these symptoms will almost certainly return and you will be well aware of what the juice can and cannot do for you.

3. Always shake the bottle before pouring in your mangosteen juice.

While the fresh mangosteen fruit has a delicate and exquisite taste, the biggest benefits are the natural phytonutrients found in its extremely bitter rind (the pericarp). These include:

  • 42 super antioxidants, called “xanthones” and
  • various flavonoids, including catechins
  • Let the truth be known:

The mangosteen “juice” you buy is not pure mangosteen! In fact, it is usually a cocktail of subtly mixed fruit juices using the best of modern food science to cover the flavor of the boiled and mashed mangosteen rind. However, you will surely notice that there is a heavier “pulp” settling to the bottom of the bottle. That pulp probably contains much of the mangosteen pericarp puree, so you should always remember to shake the bottle before pouring in the juice, allowing the pericarp to be distributed (more or less) evenly in each glass.

4. Never drink from the bottle

While I may sound like an annoying mother, I will still emphasize that you should never drink mangosteen juice straight from the bottle. This is not just due to manners, but because saliva contains enzymes, and one of their main functions is to help break down food. If even a tiny amount of your saliva gets back into the rest of the contents, it will cause contamination and the juice will start to break down, becoming less effective the longer it is held.

5. Always drink mangosteen juice with some food.

The xanthones in mangosteen, its super antioxidants, are fat soluble, which means you need to consume a little oil or fat to digest them properly. So if you drink mangosteen juice on an empty stomach, you may be feeling the taste of mangosteen juice, but your body won’t be able to extract much of the goodness and your juice will mostly just go through your system, exiting I eat very expensive urine. Fortunately, you only need to eat something small that contains oil, like peanut butter on a cookie, for the xanthone breakdown process to happen efficiently.

6. Consider using mangosteen juice as a mouthwash.

Instead of quickly sipping your juice, consider swallowing the mangosteen juice around your mouth and covering your gums with the tiny bits of pericarp. Think of it as a free mouthwash, and your dentist will be amazed at the results!

7. Always carefully rinse the glass you use and drink the contents later.

You will notice that after you have drunk your mangosteen juice, some pericarp remains covering the glass. Never throw that away! Always add a little more water and drink it (or drink it later if you don’t want to dilute the “mouthwash” effect).

That same thought should also apply when finishing a bottle of juice. Always fill it with a little water and collect the pericarp from inside the bottle. Every extra xanthone helps!

8. try to keep your mangosteen juice refrigerated

While mangosteen juice, like most fruit juices, tastes best when cold, you should also be aware that on hot days there is a small chance that it will go off if left outside. However, if so, don’t throw away that precious juice! Place the juice in a skillet and reduce to about 40% of its initial volume. Next, scrape what’s left into a clean container and keep the resulting mangosteen juice paste in your fridge. When needed, mix some of the paste with hand or skin cream and apply topically to:

* cuts

* Burns

* blemishes

* gold grains

* insect cocks, etc.

You will be surprised how effective it is!

9. Drink small amounts of mangosteen juice throughout the day.

Finally, try to have your mangosteen juice spread throughout the day, as its half-life (the time that mangosteen juice acts on your body) is about 4 to 8 hours. Therefore, it is better to take several small doses spread throughout the day (around the three main meals) rather than taking them all at once. In that way, xanthones work in your system 24 hours a day.
