Life is a Joy – Avoiding the Syndrome by UG Krishnamurti

U.G. Krishnamurti in a nutshell

Anyone who comes into contact with the ultra-fascinating life story and circumstances of UG Krishnamurti (not to be confused with J (Jedda) Krishnamurti) finds himself on a journey right to the gates of whatever you define as his hell. In fact, it’s like being alone in a car in the back seat, blindfolded!

There’s no greater surprise in life than discovering that what you’ve been fruitlessly searching for all your life, your ‘Restaurant at the End of the Universe’, simply doesn’t exist! This is putting it ‘very well’. The way it comes out of UG’s mouth has caused people to experience prolonged depression and suicidal actions: “There is no power outside of man. Man has created God out of fear.”

Many just can’t stand it. UG spoke with authority and conviction. He loved being outspoken, and it cost him a lot of friendships, but he wouldn’t have considered such people friends to begin with, so he never bothered her.

The Enlightenment of U.G. Krishnamurti

UG Krishmanurti (everyone called him simply UG) achieved worldwide cult status and a rare ‘no follow’ for the last forty years of his life until his death at the age of eighty-nine in 2007 (read his obituary *).

UG never failed to proclaim that all religion, including the greatest enlightened beings of all time, Jesus, Siddhartha Gautama, J. Krishnamurti, Ramana Maharshi, and all aspects of the ‘guru business’, including Vedic literature, They were false and misleading. facade that did more harm than good.

UG insisted that accepting any of the myriad spiritual disciplines and/or methods actually took the body away from what he insists is the natural state. UG himself lived in that natural state, the state without self-awareness, ever since his ‘Calamity’ transformation in 1967. This is the highly sought-after state of enlightenment called moksha.

Make no mistake about it, UG himself, once proclaimed in his own portfolio (scrapbook) as “One of the most brilliant speakers India has ever produced”, was one of the most qualified candidates on the planet during his lifetime for induction into the spiritual hall of fame. He had an extraordinary passion for seeking the truth and exposing what he considered to be frauds, in a loving attempt to save people from themselves.

He loved to ridicule the seekers who came to him by saying things like, “We are all at 25 Sannidhi Street, and you are asking me ‘Where is 25 Sannidhi Street?’ when they asked for enlightenment. UG the latest nonsense (“Whoever wants to cross the Bridge of Death must answer me these three questions, before seeing the other side”).

The syndrome that I seek to calm is the first phase of reaction to the ideas of UG Krishnamurti. The curious attention-seekers who followed UG endlessly and demanded audiences with him wherever he went, kept him going for fifty years. What was the mystique behind UG’s enlightenment (UG himself jokingly renamed the name of the book written about him ‘The Error of Enlightenment’)?

The cure

Exposure to the no-God/power of man/there’s-nothing-to-achieve philosophy is enough to shake the very foundations of your existence. But it does not have to be like that. There is a cure. Let’s take a look at the technique UG used to draw attention to and force people to look inward, outward and begin seriously questioning their very existence.

For the conventional guru (or what UG called ‘the business of spirituality’) to survive, to be successful, it needs good marketing. You need a self-replicating meme that feeds on itself to keep attracting customers. It does not matter, says UG, that the process does not give results! “You gurus,” he said, “all of you sit there meditating and refraining from sex. To what end? You are still sitting there and have nothing. How long will it last?”

A Closer Look at UG Techniques

UG himself could have lived a normal life. He was certainly within his means and he never hesitated to do what he wanted to do. But let’s see what he allowed to happen. Basically, he fostered, either directly or subtly, a circus atmosphere that constantly surrounded and descended on his entourage.

Being a member of UG’s inner circle was a great honor for these ‘non-disciples’, whom UG refused to teach or enlighten. He said that he had no gifts to give. This non-giving (go away, I have nothing to give you) is actually a very clever use of reverse psychology, of which UG was an absolute master. He increased the desires of those who came with desire.

In essence, what this ‘peek-a-boo’ mentality really does is allow us to ‘glimpse sugar without actually tasting it’ (to paraphrase UG’s harsh criticism of his fellow gurus). companion J. Krishnamurti).

UG was a master at whetting his appetite and then removing the lollipop. He didn’t apologize for it. UG destroyed trust in people and shattered his beliefs. Yet they kept coming back! UG kept telling them to go home and not come back. But they had nowhere to go. They were destitute and had lost their self-esteem.

take revenge on UG

UG would love this essay if he read it. It’s the same stuff it was made of. So now let’s take an ultimate goal to regain self-esteem from dashed hopes, and put an end to the delusional ‘UG Krishnamurti Syndrome’ once and for all.

We begin by looking at the man himself. This self-proclaimed ‘bomb thrower’, who taunted people by saying, “You don’t want enlightenment – it will explode every cell in your body and cause intense pain. No, you don’t want this!” he was actually a very happy and content person. His charisma was extraordinary.

Not only was he handsome, intelligent, an expert speaker, an accomplished practitioner of Eastern spiritual disciplines from a young age, but he was also of auspicious birth. Numerous experiences confirm the psychic preconsciousness and the prophecies of his ability. I won’t go into them here, you can read about them in his books.

Ingenious psychology!

Don’t be fooled, UG had mystical powers, but failed to explain them and/or just shrugged them off as nothing more than ‘scientific freaks’. But one thing that UG did not take into account was the power of the human mind not only, in his words “To invent God” (where he did not exist), but to manipulate the energy of creation. to suffering, stop desiring by the act of being indifferent.

In fact, UG Krishnamurti was a master of these things. He lived well, with extreme integrity and was not afraid of life or death. He inspired and continues to inspire thousands who would need guidance in the spiritual disciplines from him.

The ingenuity of their marketing method ensures healthy skepticism and will allow seekers to start their journey with renewed enthusiasm by unlearning unhealthy practices that detract from the goal. Make no mistake about it: life is for living and the zest for life is something that UG Krishnamurti wholeheartedly embodied.
