Google Phone on Vodafone – Google Nexus One launched

The new ‘super phone’ Nexus One has already been launched at Vodafone. It is the Google phone that the internet company will sell directly and has been available since February as a SIM Free device.

The Google Nexus One is now available on a variety of Vodafone pay-monthly deals and, with the added network subsidy, is available free to consumers.

This is the first time a UK network has launched the Nexus One; Until now, consumers had to buy a new phone from Google as a SIM-free phone and then use their existing SIM card or apply for a new pay-as-you-go or SIM card contract to use in their phone.

Vodafone is the only network operator that has exclusive rights to sell the Nexus One with a network connection in the UK. This latest phone from Google is being marketed as a “superphone,” but it’s already facing stiff competition from rival phones.

The Nexus One is actually made by HTC, which has now also released its own version of this phone called the HTC Desire, the differences are stark with the new Desire beating Google’s phone in many areas.

Firstly, the Google Nexus One uses the old-style trackball for physical menu navigation, which is prone to wear and tear over time, while the HTC Desire incorporates the manufacturer’s latest TrackPad technology, which acts as an optical mouse with the user sliding their finger across the keyboard.

Second, the HTC Desire supports Flash 10.1 while the Nexus One doesn’t, though not too important, it means Desire users will be able to see a lot more websites.

HTC has also included its Sense UI on its own Desire model, which is known for offering a smooth user experience. Desire also comes with the latest FriendStream app, which is also present on its new HTC Legend model, which brings together updates from social networks, emails, Instant Messages and text messages from users’ contact lists in a continuous stream that keeps the user up to date. user fully updated with your friends’ conversations and online activity.

Features that remain the same in both models include 3.7-inch AMOLED touchscreen, powerful 1GHz processor, 5.0-megapixel camera, and obvious Android Market access and support thanks to Android v2 operating system. one.

The screen size and processing speed of the Nexus One and Desire models only compare to the recently launched HTC HD2, Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 and Samsung Wave models, while the camera resolution is now pretty standard for the models. mid-range and high-end, including the Nokia N900. Nokia N97 Mini, Nokia X6, LG BL40 and Motorola Milestone.

There’s no word on how long the Google Nexus One’s exclusive launch period will last on Vodafone’s network, and whether other network operators will eventually be able to sell this new Google phone.
