In the case of women, the tables are turned. The right eye that moves signifies good luck, while the left eye is considered a bad omen. Others also believe that a twitch in the lower left eyelid means that you can expect to cry soon or that someone is gossiping about you.

Indian left eye superstition
In India, superstition is the reverse of the Chinese version. The old belief was that if your right eye contracts, you are likely to hear good news, earn some money, or enjoy some success. On the other hand, left eye spasms are considered unfavorable. Sometimes eyelid twitching can also be based on gender. While left eye spasms are considered good for women, it could be a bad sign for men. Also, contractions of the pupil of the left eye can indicate good luck.

In certain parts of Africa, including Cameroon, the contractions of the lower eyelid indicate that you will soon shed tears. In Hawaii, left eye spasms can signify the arrival of a stranger. In addition to this belief, there are some other versions of superstition, in which a constant movement of the left eye could indicate an imminent death in the family, and the movement of the right can indicate an imminent birth.
