The noise about the rebranding: has it really changed Nigeria?

Nigeria as a nation has suffered untold hardship at the hands of its previous political leaders who were hell-bent on personal enrichment and acting scripts written by their patrons. As the saying goes, “No condition is permanent”, one can see today that God is gradually bringing out the beauty of this country called NIGERIA.

The country has produced quite a number of people who have not only made us proud, but have carved a niche for themselves, imprinting their names in the record book of history in such a way that no one can deny that they once existed.

Many things have been done or experienced in the past of which we are not proud. Such things that may bring mistrust between brothers or nations, however, we need to move forward as a people in one world. It is true that no matter how one attempts to bury a pain experienced by a sibling, a friend, or even a loved one, one day something may happen that triggers the memory.

History has a way of making judgments. Nigeria has seemed like the Whiteman’s bad boy, but that was in the past, but the Whiteman hasn’t found a good reason to forgive. We remember the days of advance fee fraud that painted the nation in dark colors, however, these Nigerians were not alone: they have white friends and allies who help them in these acts. Nigeria was not alone in such evil deeds, however people will still believe that another race is responsible for their state in life.

As black people look back, history reminds them of the bondage of slavery that keeps them angry at white people. In the same way, the whites are angry with the ugly practices of the blacks in such a way that they could not trust them. All this has hindered progress on both sides. Yet in the midst of these differences, both blacks and whites are destined to live together in this world: whites need blacks, and blacks need whites too.

One question that constantly begs for an answer is this: “Will blacks and whites ever see themselves as one people under one God?”

Returning to the main topic. Nigeria is the big boy of Africa (the blacks) and America represents the whites. For many years, these two giants have allowed history to keep them in the throes of self-loathing, which has trapped them in the past, hence the horrible failure records.

In today’s business life, it is very difficult to see an American doing business with a Nigerian. Some will tell you bluntly that they have nothing to do with NIGERIA and NIGERIANS. But the fact is that if the Americans don’t need us, we need them (in the interest of unity). Worse yet, Nigeria and other African countries are removed from almost all online business directories, making it difficult for both countries to transact business together. Although fraud abounds, no country has a monopoly on fraud. I have not seen a nation that is 100% free of fraud. However, fraud is damnable: it is evil, unethical, a sin against God and man, and a sin against the government.

Removing Nigeria and other African countries from Whiteman’s trade directory is unacceptable. This is because action can never be a cure-all for check fraud, but only makes it worse. As people sleep and wake up, many new ideas are developed. Many “sharp” practices and high-tech manipulations are employed to achieve certain ambitions. Someone must survive and live like the rest of the people, and in order to do so, some rules must be broken.

When some countries of the world adopted capital punishment as a means to curb criminal activities, they did not go very far with it because crime kept multiplying day by day and the best option is to scrap it, otherwise all humanity will be affected. .

America is God fearing. His catchphrase, “In God We Trust” says it all. In Nigeria, almost every home can boast a church and a mosque, depending on the area. That means we all believe in one God. So the key to our success and freedom in life is in our hands: to do what the Word of God encourages: “Remember not the former things, nor consider the old things” (Isaiah 43:18). And every time we forget the past and get ready to move on, God says that He will “do something new…” in our lives and heal our land (Isaiah 43:19; 2 Chronicles 7:14).

Let’s make a quality decision to live and work together. God sees both the Nigerian and the American and anyone else who believes in Him as His blessed child who is part of a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation and a peculiar people (1 Peter 2:9). As far as He is concerned, those people are special.

Aside from the fact that God has called NIGERIA blessed, many things tend to overshadow that blessing. Things like people’s unpleasant perceptions of Nigeria due to past experiences. For many years they have called it “great for nothing”, ridiculed and cajoled, but those are the words of false prophets and teachers, according to the Word of God (2 Peter 2:19). Today NIGERIA is no longer ‘big for something’. She has evolved and no longer lives where other people have placed her. She NOW lives on top (Galatians 5:1; 2 Corinthians 5:17). She is renowned, truly born again!

However, I want to call on the government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to behave in a way that people trust them 100%. In cases where one segment of people, for a matter of evil, will descend on another leaving victims, destroyed property, dead people of different ages, without any comment or help from the government is unacceptable. No Nigerian is insignificant, no matter where they come from: the Igbo, the Hausa, the Yoruba and the rest of the ethnic groups in Nigeria have a role to play, because without any of them THERE WOULD BE NO NIGERIA. There is no point in trying to chase shadows while the substance is very close. What belongs to the people can never be manipulated. Stick to the rule of law, do the right thing, and God will do the rest. John the Baptist advised soldiers in authority to be content with their wages and administer justice without fear or favor. The NIGERIA government should also do the same. The past is still the past, we are in the present, let’s join hands and surely the sun will shine for us.

I sincerely believe that as long as we are sincere in what we do, we have every right to experience God’s goodness in every area of our life, and thus, no nation has the right to oppress us. Righteousness is the only thing that is capable of restoring a nation’s confidence and prestige, and when we do this, no nation in the world will deny the fact that we have evolved. Righteousness will lift up NIGERIA and make all the nations of the world care about her, because because of that, she becomes the bird that lays the golden eggs. That is why the best place to be in the world today is NIGERIA: I invite you to take a trip to NIGERIA and you will be glad you did.

Finally, I want to call on all online/offline business owners to, as a matter of unity and service to humanity, connect with NIGERIA and the rest of Africa, if possible, partner with their central governments in case of fraud. check. This will work I think. Being black is not a death sentence, it’s just pride! GOD BLESS NIGERIA.
