The difference between success and luck

Too often we hear someone wish us luck and some people really wish they didn’t; But do you know why? Well actually it’s simple, someone who refuses to lose or take second place is a true winner. They won’t accept defeat or imagine anything but first place. Wish them luck is silly, because although it is always good to be lucky, they trust their instincts, training, talents and skills, not luck.

Luck is indeed a wonderful thing and anyone would be wise to take whatever they can get. But when you wish good luck to someone who’s really working hard to make it happen, it’s almost like you’re saying that whatever success they’ve had is luck. I always wish those who shine in the field with past, present and obvious future success in their endeavors; I wish you: Continued success!

When you wish someone continued success, you are acknowledging these things. When you wish them luck, it’s like saying that whatever success they’ve achieved is simply down to luck. But is that really fair? Are they just lucky? By wishing them luck, you are in effect hinting that they are just lucky and need luck to succeed.

Now, I certainly know a lot of successful people, maybe it’s the circles I travel in, but I don’t think any of them need luck in their past, present, or future. Be a wise person, desire them; Continued success next time because wishing someone luck is a bit offensive, frankly. Consider all this in 2006.
