How to achieve success with your personal goals by coach and trainer Dax Moy

Kevin: So what’s next in the Magic 100 system?

Dax: What follows is to know why you want it. To be very, very honest, most people don’t know why they want what they want. Or they’ll never admit it to themselves. You know what, they’ll say “oh yeah, I’d like a new Land Rover Discovery” in my case, you know? “Because I want it?” I know it’s a great car. And that’s when most people start, “it’s a great car; it made me feel, basically when I actually went through the ‘why do I want it’ phase, what I really, really, really got to was: it would make me to feel successful, it would make me feel special, it would make me feel like I made it. It’s not the things I see that are going to keep you on track when the going gets tough, okay? But, when you know why you want to when you get there to the bottom of the real reason, well, actually, you know, again, if I dig a little deeper, for most of my life I felt poor and felt like I wasn’t going to do anything I wanted to do.

Kevin: Right, big deal. So, we’ve gone through the “why”. And now; What are the next steps?

Dax: The next couple of steps. Know the price. There is a price for everything. You know, you want new shoes, there is a price. You want to get in shape, there is a price. Too many people enter the initial phases of a goal, perhaps thinking about what they want and why they want it, but not really saying it; What is this going to cost me? It could cost you money. It can cost you in time, commitment, effort and it can cost you in things that; You know, if we’re talking about health and fitness, the things you should abstain from.

Anything I ask for, in my personal training students here in the UK, we have it; I just finished a team meeting right before I got here and some of my trainers were saying that I have problems with X, you know, and she tells me that she’s not happy with the correct improvement that she’s getting. So I said she’s fine let me see her diary. She hasn’t been paying; we told him in advance what the price was. We said no wheat, dairy, caffeine or alcohol. You have to do your homework twice a day, I mean, it’s only 10 minutes of homework really, but you have to do it twice a day, you’re going to read these books, you’re going to go to sleep. at this time of night, you can’t do this, you have to do this… It’s not just that we get upset; you telling me what your declared game is and me telling you the quickest way to get there.

Kevin: I think it’s great that you make it so simple because a lot of people spend a lot of time planning how they’re going to be healthy, and then they get to the point where, you know? They know what needs to be done and just freeze up. What is the turning point there?

Dax: The tipping point is, very often, what I have found is the people who; the people struggling to pay the price didn’t successfully commit to the second phase, did they? They weren’t really honest about why they wanted it.

Yeah, and nine times out of ten, when you find the person who won’t pay the price, it’s going to be someone who wasn’t really honest with themselves about why they wanted it. The other time in ten will be a person that once he gets there, once he gets to the point of paying the price, it’s usually because he doesn’t believe that paying the price will bring him the goods. Yes, they are terrified. If I tell you that the price is X amount of training per week, eat like this, go to bed at this time and go to bed later, you only do half the workouts, and you have changed your nutritional strategy; you have not paid the price. And you will not get the goods.

Kevin: Wow! How do you practice differently now than when you did?

started for the first time? How has your approach changed with people, with the people you work with?

Dax: I’m coming; I’m going to talk about it in one simple responsible word, your systems. I was always a fly by the seat of my pants kind of guy. I am still very in tune with my feelings and my emotional factors. I still pay a lot of attention to them, but I’ve also tried to build systems around things that they mean; I guess I can reproduce. Instead of being a Dax Moy, there are twenty people in my studios who do things in exactly the same way that Dax Moy does. So, you get the same training with them that you’ll get with me. I guess that’s one of the most important things; system, I don’t just want to say in terms of my business no, I have a systematic approach in my year. Every twelve weeks my family and I take a vacation, every twelve weeks without fail. I would consider my year spiraling down if that didn’t happen. I no longer work Wednesday or Friday nights. No, that’s not part of my system. work rest of the; I no longer work weekends either. It’s like saying, look for most things, there are some exceptions to the rule, but most of us don’t live within the rule; we live within the exceptions. I think that’s what he was doing. That’s what many of my clients do. That’s what my students do. That’s what many of my readers do. They spend their lives living within the exceptions.

Kevin: Well, it sort of answers my last question. If everyone took and maybe you can expand on that; If everyone took one thing away from this particular call, what would it be?

Dax: Establish a system that will make you happy. For me happiness is the last love of life. you are receiving; you want to lose 20 or 30 pounds, whatever, because being how you look in the mirror right now is making you unhappy. With these things to be happy, why not set up systems that you’re otherwise going to, you know; the best time to do it is on the days when you feel happiest. And you sit down and say; You know I’m having a great day today. Why do I feel so good today? I had a great conversation with someone today, you know? I had a great chat with someone today. I went to eat very well at lunch time, I did not rush; I took my time; I still had time to read a book, you know. My desk was clear when I got to work this morning, which made me feel completely different at the start of my day. All of these are just ingredients, they are the recipe for happiness and none of us have the exact same recipe. For example, in my life, I also like my family; Value the adventure. So, that’s where the twelve week vacation comes in. My vacations are quite adventurous. I have lived in the Australian outback in a camping cabin. I have parachuted over the Great Barrier.

So if I get all the other ingredients and go, hey, I tell my family I love them; my work is going very well; I ate very well and read a book, but now twelve weeks have passed and I say, God, I haven’t had any affairs anymore; I start to feel less than myself. I no longer feel like myself. I feel like I’m starting to slow down somehow.

So many people go through life losing themselves. That’s because they simply aren’t following their own rules. If you don’t like the word rules, take that word and use the word recipe. You are not following your own recipe for what makes you happy. Know what it is; you know what the ingredients are I need this amount of time; this amount of money; I need to read these amounts of books; this is the type of body i want; this is the kind of sex life i want; this is this, this, this, this, and this, and this, and this. Those are the ingredients in your recipe, but the only problem is; most people don’t go out, you know; they’re living with opposite ingredients, they’re doing all the things they hate in life and they’re wondering why their life sucks. They may get some of the ingredients but not the rest and when they do get them they never mix them. What I mean by mixing them is creating that system. Here’s something interesting, most people are watching; I hate people who tell me all the time that they are trying to create a work-life balance, work-life balance; do you hear this? And I used to be a coach trying to help people create a work-life balance. It was only in the last six months, you know; that’s nonsense. We don’t want work-life balance. Nothing in life is balance because once it becomes balanced, it becomes still. Unless it is your movement, the action of life. Therefore, we do not want to work on life balance at all. I mean, you picture a seesaw, right? When the seesaw is in balance, when its balance is at rest; It does not move

Kevin: Wow! You know every time I’ve interviewed and talked to you Dax; I’ve really gotten some great ideas from him. This is amazing stuff and we are running out of time.

Let me talk a little here because I have the Magic 100 program and I did it and one of my goals was to go to California and I had no reason to go to California and I just put it there because I just wanted to go. The funny thing about this is that things clicked together, I mean, almost in 30 days and I had a trip planned to go to California and I had a business meeting there and there was an Expo there, and then, it was just crazy how it happened. It’s that once you set that intention, write it down and say it, let it, man, it just happens. And as a testament to the Magic 100 for me, I’ve made it and his power is just amazing and stuff.
