Comparing the Samsung Galaxy Beam and the HTC One V

Samsung announced the arrival of its latest projector phone in February. HTC, on the other hand, announced the arrival of its “One” series that same month. Now, I’m talking about the Samsung Galaxy Beam (Samsung’s second projector phone) and the HTC One V (one of the members of the HTC One trilogy). In this article, I will compare these phones and see if they can beat or even match each other. I will start with Samsung and then I will finish the comparative note with HTC. Keep reading!

Let’s start my comparative note with dimensions and weight. The actual dimensions of the Beam are 124 x 64.2 x 12.5mm and it weighs just 145.3 grams. On the other hand, the dimensions of the One V are 120.3 x 59.7 x 9.2 mm and it weighs only 115 grams. When it comes to packing a bigger phone, I give Samsung a good point. When it comes to packing a lighter phone, HTC has a good point.

Moving on, let’s talk about display screens. Samsung shipped its phone with a 4″ TFT touch screen with a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels and a pixel density of 233 ppi. HTC, on the other hand, packed its phone with a 3.7″ touch screen with a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels and a pixel density of 252ppi. We all want a bigger screen phone, and for that I give Samsung a good point for introducing a 4″ screen. But on the other hand, HTC packed their smaller screen phone with more pixel density. And for that , I give HTC a good point too.

Now let’s compare their processors and memory capacity. Samsung packed its phone with a Cortex-A9 dual-core processor running at a speed of 1GHz. It also comes with 8GB of storage and 768MB of RAM. Furthermore, you can also add more memory on this phone through its microSD card slot. You can add up to 32GB of memory on this phone. HTC packed its phone with the Qualcomm MSM8255 Snapdragon chipset. It comes with a single core processor running at a speed of 1GHz. You will also get 4GB of memory and 512MB of RAM. Just like Samsung, you can add more memory on this phone through its microSD card slot. You can get up to 32GB of memory for this phone. When it comes to packing your phone with a faster processor, I give Samsung another good point. When it comes to packing your phone with more RAM and memory storage, I give Samsung two good points.

To summarize my comparison score, Samsung got a good 5 points and HTC got a good 2 points. The winner is pretty obvious, Samsung mustered enough points to declare it the winner in this comparative note of mine.

This is my brief comparative note on the Samsung Galaxy Beam and the HTC One V.
