Come on Bananas!

Eat a banana every day. All wrapped in its own fluorescent jacket, easy to eat, preferably with breakfast, anytime is good.

They are a fantastic bright and cheery color to start your day to begin with and are a fun shape that never quite fits in your lunch box so you often end up eating it on the way to work!

Bananas are the natural food for a good mood, because the tryptophan in bananas is converted to serotonin and can naturally help patients overcome “blues”. They are naturally low in fat and high in vitamins and minerals like potassium, calcium, magnesium – vitamins A, B and even a little bit of C!

Great for stress busting, they are also said to relieve morning sickness and PMS, so it’s something to remember for all the guys reading this…however, it might be a good idea to give the goddess in your life a box of dark chocolates and a banana at that time of month!

And if you suffer from a hangover and find yourself muttering “never again”, a good home remedy is to make a banana smoothie drink, mixed in a blender with a little milk and honey, almost worth it!

One of our favorite ways to ensure we get some of this fantastic GRASS (yes, apparently it’s a very large grass, not a tree at all) is to bake delicious banana bread, eaten warm and spread with a little butter.

We think they taste great no matter how you eat them, so feel free to go crazy and enjoy all those health benefits!
