Characters: change is inevitable to improve

1. YOU MUST CHANGE YOUR ATTITUDE TOWARDS GOD

Winning in life involves God and maintaining your victory is still a product of His help. Therefore, never reach a level in life where you feel that you have arrived and you no longer need his help. “The end of any man is usually when he projects himself above his creator.” David never got to a point in his life where he felt that he could do it with just his experience and position and that he no longer needed God’s help. If you have that attitude toward God, you must change it to remain a champion in life’s challenges. You have to always submit your thoughts under the word of God and weigh your actions before him.

Never blame God for any circumstance that He has allowed you to go through and do not accept it as your destiny as well. When God allows some things to come your way it is because He knows that by trusting in His ability you can handle them. God expects us to learn from the situation, trust Him for victory, and be strengthened in our faith. He uses situations to train us and challenges to change us so that we can become his true overcomers. When God was leading Joseph through the series of trials he went through, he never showed a negative attitude toward God or his circumstances. “He saw it as a process for his success. A true champion sees a breakthrough in every barrier, a rise in every opposition and a solution in every problem.”

2. YOU MUST CHANGE YOUR ATTITUDE TOWARDS YOURSELF

“The hero in you cannot be born until the fear in you dies.” David as a young man killed the fear of facing his giant. He wasn’t intimidated by his own size or his opposition’s, but he focused on the victory that lay ahead of him. If you can overcome the fear of despising yourself, you will always win. Because the way you see yourself matters a lot in life. “People rarely believe in those who don’t believe in themselves” David never had the same misperception that his older brothers had about him or the opinions of others about him when he arrived at the battle site. The truth is that our background or who our parents are or were does not change God’s purpose for our lives. And men’s opinions of us don’t change a thing either. “Men can easily believe the false report about us, but only God knows the truth about us.” He does not judge us by what people say or say, but by what we think of Him.

When you have a bad mental attitude, it will be very difficult for you to be rich or to associate with the rich. There will be a reflection of this mindset in your lifestyle. True champions don’t talk about fear, they speak the language of faith and don’t think small, they think big. “Character is a formation of our conception, perception and obsession, which is reflected in our actions and affects us positively or negatively.” In fact, character is one of the pillars of the success or failure of any man. The power to win in life comes from within. This is why God cannot use us effectively until he has truly changed us and opened our inner eyes to see the potential liars in us.

“Many people are defeated in life because they are already defeated in their minds.” Their failure was due to the fact that they did not believe enough in God and in themselves. If he is to survive through life’s battles, then he must believe that he can make it no matter what comes his way. Attitudes are builders or destroyers of destiny; we decide how we choose to live them. “It’s easier to deal with an enemy than it is to deal with wrong attitudes.” “Never be afraid of the giants of life or underestimate your ability to face them.”

3. YOU MUST CHANGE YOUR ATTITUDE TOWARDS OTHERS

The world would have become better than it is today if all we do is help others become their dreams instead of criticizing or killing them. The Joseph brothers had it in mind to kill him instead of encouraging him to become their dream. David’s brothers unjustly criticized and despised him saying that he had come to witness the battle, leaving the sheep in the field because of the wickedness of his heart. In other words, they were saying that he had nothing positive in him to contribute to the raging battle. They had suddenly forgotten how they stood to await his arrival on the day he was appointed and anointed by God. And it was unknown to them that the anointing was an empowerment for a day like that; it was the day of David’s manifestation. “Those you don’t believe in are usually the ones God will use to do what you never taught them they could do.”

When God chose David he was not looking at the container but the content. God looked at David’s heart while Samuel looked at the countenance of his brothers. You need to value your neighbor, in each sinner there is a saint and each one there is an invaluable treasure. If we can see people from the point of view of who they can be and not just who they are now, then we are truly representing God. “He never saw how bad we were, but how good we can become if his Son dies for us.”

If the man were in that position we could all have been sentenced to death. Our misperception about others must change. Nobody was created hastily by God or empty, that has nothing to offer. What we need is to invest in each other, believe in ourselves and harness our potential to improve the world. If we fight with one force, one mind and one goal, we will win together.
