Comparison of internet service providers to keep the family connected

I didn’t expect my internet access to be disrupted too much when I had to move in with my mom to take care of her for a month. After all, I live in Houston and my mom lives in Dallas, both cities pretty well connected. The problem was that I need to work online independently and my mother does not have access to the Internet. In fact, she doesn’t even have a computer. So I needed to figure out what my options were other than wireless, and I needed to figure it out fast. My idea was to install a computer in her house so that I could work there and she could be in contact with me. She also wanted her to be able to track her health insurance online.

I found a website where we could find internet service providers in Dallas and internet service providers in Houston. This made it very easy to compare available services and make the best decision for your needs. Fortunately, both AT&T and Verizon offer service in both cities, and cable providers offered service as well. Mom really just needed basic service and I was able to find a basic DSL plan with no contract. That suited him very well!

There is a lot to do in Dallas and being online was a big help to Mom once I showed her how to set it up. We searched for good restaurants and even found Dallas Cowboys tickets for the next time my family visits. I showed him how to connect with us via email and how to share photos. She thought this would be difficult, but it is actually very easy. She loved looking up the latest videos of my nephew, who at 13 is a magician with the camera. This really helps everyone get closer.

We connected mom to basic service, but soon she wanted to upgrade. She seems like she likes to watch videos and even she has started working on social media. She likes to have the speed to watch and enjoy those videos. Just yesterday she asked me if there was a way to talk live with a webcam. I told him that there is and that we are also preparing it. In this way, she can send her own video messages to friends and family.

Mom is doing better and I really think introducing her to this new “toy” really helped her get back on her feet. She wasn’t bored and she was connecting with the people she loves and they were able to connect right away. So it was great to be able to find the right internet plan for her, and me when she comes to visit.
