3 grilled hot dog recipes that will make your mouth water

Everyone loves hot dogs, whether they are a child or an adult, they consider them a comfort food because they are familiar. They are available everywhere and are also very easy to cook! And most of all, hot dogs are versatile – they’re definitely not a one-note food!

Grilled cheese hotdog pizza

What do you need:

  • 5 regular hot dogs, cut into 1/4-inch slices

  • 1 can of Pillsbury Refrigerated Classic Pizza Dough

  • 1 1/4 cups shredded cheddar cheese

  • 1 cup pizza sauce

  • 18×12 heavy duty aluminum foil

  • Cooking spray

Place aluminum foil on a large cookie sheet. Spray with cooking spray and then roll out the pizza dough, pressing into a 13×19-inch rectangle. Cook pizza dough on a preheated grill over medium-low heat for 2-4 minutes per side. Remove from heat and return to foil on a baking sheet.

Heat hot dogs and pizza sauce in saucepan until warm. Spoon mixture into crust then top with grated cheddar cheese. Return to the grill and cook until the cheese is melted and the crust is golden brown, about 3 to 6 minutes.

Grilled hotdog and avocado muffin

What do you need:

  • 8 jumbo hot dogs or beef hot dogs

  • 2 avocados, sliced

  • 1 large white onion, cut into rings

  • Shredded lettuce or cabbage

  • Barbecue sauce

  • 8 hot dog buns

Cook hot dogs on a preheated grill over medium heat until cooked through, about 2-3 minutes per side. Heat the onion rings on the grill until the grill marks start to appear. Assemble the bunwiches by placing shredded lettuce or cabbage on the bottom of each hot dog bun. Place the grilled hot dog, avocado slices, and grilled onions. Drizzle with barbecue sauce. Serve hot.

Bacon Wrapped Grilled Cheese Dogs

What do you need:

  • 8 hot dogs

  • 16 slices of bacon, precooked

  • 8 slices of gouda cheese

  • 1/2 cup of BBQ sauce

  • 8 hot dog buns, toasted

Cut each hot dog lengthwise like hot dog bun (not quite). Fill the pocket with gouda cheese. Wrap each hot dog with 2 slices of precooked bacon, secure with toothpick. Brush with barbecue sauce and then cook on a preheated grill over low heat, cheese side down first. Grill until cheese is melted and bacon is crisp. Serve hot with more barbecue sauce for dipping.
